Last LOOONG Run + Stupid Chicago

I haven’t been feeling super bloggy since my last long run on Saturday. Ellen and I ran 23 miles. We dipped our feet in the ocean after a hot, long run and talked about Marta who would be running Chicago the next day. Chicago didn’t go as planned. Leg pain forced Marta to stop. She is such a strong runner, and she’ll have an even better redemption run. It just sucked getting that call from her that she had to stop. Races don’t always go as planned. It is so frustrating, but it does make meeting your goals even more meaningful. I’ve had some rough marathons, but it made Boston so special. Screen Shot 2015-10-10 at 3.30.56 PM

I’m training for the 8th marathon, but 23 miles is still CRAZY to me. Our route went across West LA, up into the Brentwood hills and back to the beach. We started at 6ish because the high was going to be 90 degrees. The last two miles were brutal. It was so hot. Hoping for some 50s or 60s in New York.

Gotta drink water wherever you can find it.

Beautiful, but not ideal for running.

And I took advantage of $80 Mizuno colors that are being discontinued from Road Runner Sports. The big question is which ones for the marathon? Blue, pink and purple or black and mint? Such difficult decisions!FullSizeRender_2Tomorrow Brent and I are off to College Station, TX for some beer, barbecue and football. Will update with the trip and this week’s runs on Sunday night.
